Plans for 09/10 – we’re stepping up
Jim Park has once again agreed to be primary sponsor for Dumbarton Academy FP AFC for next season. Accies committee passes a big thanks to Jim.

The various committee’s of Dumbarton Academy FP, Riverside and Barcalomond have agreed to affiliate the club’s.
• Riverside currently run teams a Mini Kickers level (4-6 year olds), and at 7-a-side level (U8 to U11)
• Barcalomond currently run team at 7-a-side level (U12’s) and 11-a-side level (U13’s to U16’s)
• Dumbarton Academy FP’s currently run 11-a-side level teams at U19, U21, and 2 adult teams.
• We recognise that the progression from Barcalomond U16 level to our U19’s level is likely to be too big. In order to address this, we will over the coming year assess options to create an U17 team.
• All 3 clubs shall continue to maintain their own identity. What we have done is facilitate progression and interactions between the clubs. Coaches from each club shall be encouraged to actively participate in each others clubs in order to share ideas for the benefit of all.

Given we are stepping up performance, we intend to request that all of our coaches successfully participate in Sports Development courses over the next couple of years. Any players, friends, etc are welcome to approach the Committee should they also wish to participate.

We recognise that the above shall put further demands on the Accies committee. In order to address:-
Norman McDermid has been invited, and has agreed, to become a member of Accies Committee with immediate effect. Norman becomes the primary Committee Member responsible for all property matters.
Furthermore, Darren Pennycuick has been invited, and has agreed, to become a member of Accies Committee. Darren becomes the primary Committee Member responsible for all social and fund raising activities.

Separate matters:
Regarding the U19’s… Billy Ferguson has previously announced his intention to retire as manager of the U19’s. I would like to record Accies committee’s thanks to Billy for his efforts for both Dumbarton Accies U19’s and his previous involvement with Leven Thistle.

I would like to record the Committee’s thanks to the following people who help the club to succeed:-
For the cleaning of the strips… Linda Porter, Evelyn Pennycuick and during the early part of the season Pat McDermid.
For their support over the season… the Eastfield.
For their support over the season… the fans who come along to watch the games.
Team managers, coaches and backroom teams.

And finally – thanks to all who attended the presentation night – particularly wives, partners and families supporting the event. The night was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
